Melbourne Central Redevelopment

Melbourne Central opened in 1993 and within a decade was failing – confusing, maze-like architecture, aggressive retail rivalries, and the collapse of its anchor store. ARM won an international competition to fix it. The winning strategy wasn't to renovate, but to cut the building open and let the city in.
